Need math support?

Our Math Support Services unit offers a safe, supportive space for students to practice mathematics and build their math confidence. Our team of peer and professional Academic Mentors (Tutors) can help with most undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses, and with math content in courses from other departments. We also provide support for a variety of mathematics technologies. Both in-person and virtual tutoring options are available.

We are always thinking of new ways to support our students, so stay tuned to our website for more information!

Not available during the posted times?

Email Erica, Math Center Coordinator, at demlerel@buffalostate.edu to arrange support.

Math tutors will:

  • Clarify lecture notes and readings
  • Offer support as you work through homework assignments
  • Assist you with your scientific/graphing calculator
  • Help you prepare for quizzes, tests, and exams

Math tutors will NOT:

  • Do your homework for you
  • Guarantee an error-free assignment or a better grade; it is still your responsibility to do the work
  • Teach new material missed in class; tutoring is not a substitute for classroom instruction
  • Help with take-home or make-up tests
